Site description (2005 baseline)
The area encompasses River Cetina from its spring to the mouth as well as several Karst polje along the River: Pasko, Suho, Sinjsko and Hrvatacko. Pasko polje is mostly covered by extensive wet pastures, with several small marshes, flooded meadows and gravel banks. The area holds the only nesting population of Redshank in Croatia. The area near Dinara foothills (Suho polje) is covered with dry grassland. Sinjsko polje is meliorated and mainly covered by arable land. Hrvatacko polje is covered with extensive grassland (wet and dry) and wetland habitats with abundant emergent vegetation. It is the only nesting place of Moustached Warbler in Croatia. Bird community of river habitats is very poor as a result of negative impact of a hydro-power plant Peruca. Water Reservoir Peruca is the only breeding place of Goosander (Common Merganser) in Croatia.
