Site summary
The precipitous, coastal, chalk cliffs of Cape Aspro are a small site of great importance as one of only two nesting sites for Eleonora’s Falcon (Falco eleonorae) in Cyprus. The open, scrubby areas immediately behind the cliffs that the falcons make their nest on are important as feeding areas for these birds. The site also hosts breeding Mediterranean Shags (Phalacrocorax aristotelis desmarestii), though not in great enough numbers to meet any qualifying criteria.
