Site summary
The Boni National Reserve (1,339 km2) and Dodori National Reserve (877km 2) lie on the north-east coast of Kenya near the Kenya-Somalia border, i Lamu and Garrisa counties in far eastern Kenya. At South 01°43', East 041°10 at an altitude of 0-100m. The two sites have been recognized for the conservation of biodiversity of global importance by being listed with the Eastern Arc Mountains and Coastal Forest of Biodiversity Hotspot (Burgess, et all., 2003) for containing endemic and globally threatened biodiversity.
