As of late 2020, the BirdLife International Partnership has identified 277 Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) in Danger, across 48 countries around the world. This list builds on the decades of work undertaken by the Partnership to identify and safeguard the most important sites for birds and biodiversity. These 277 sites represent a subset of the more than 13,000 IBAs and have been identified as being those under very high pressure in the past three years and in need of immediate action.
