Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is described as not uncommon to locally common (Harris and Franklin 2000).
Trend justification: This population is estimated to be declining following a recorded decline around Lagos, Nigeria, and its disappearance from Rwanda (Harris and Franklin 2000).
