This species is assumed to have a single, very small population which is inferred to be declining due to degradation of its habitat, especially as recent surveys have failed to locate this species within known historical sites. It is therefore classified as Endangered.

Population trend: decreasing

Extent of occurrence (breeding/resident): 21,200 km2
