Justification of Red List category
Although common within its relatively small range, this species is likely to have a moderately small population overall, which is thought to be declining. It is therefore classified as Near Threatened. Since the forest on the only island where it lives is scheduled to be logged, it may require uplisting if it proves to be intolerant of degraded habitats.
