Justification of Red List category
This species is listed as Vulnerable because its population has undergone a rapid decline over the past three generations and it is restricted to just three locations, and there are plausible threats that could have a severe impact on the species at these locations. The population has been increasing since 2000 owing to intensive conservation action including two translocations, such that the decline over the past three generations has no longer been very rapid, but it has still likely been >30%.
