Justification of Red List category
This forest-associated species occurs in the Sundaic lowlands, where deforestation has been widespread in the recent past. Even though the species can use human-modified habitats, it is assumed to be experiencing ongoing rapid declines due to forest loss and hunting for the cage bird trade. It is consequently considered Vulnerable.
