Justification of Red List category
This species has a small population and is continuing to decline as a result of habitat loss and hunting. The greatest number of mature individuals in any of the species's subpopulations is thought likely to be close to, but not fall below, the threshold for Vulnerable under Criterion C2a(i). For these reasons, the species is listed as Near Threatened.
