Justification of Red List category
This newly described species has a large EOO, but its AOO is likely small and fragmented, and declining as a result of habitat loss. Any evidence to suggest that this species has become severely fragmented may lead to its potential listing as threatened, but in the absence of this, the species is listed as Near Threatened.
