Site description (2019 baseline)
Spanning around 20000 ha of lowlands it represent the largest area in the whole country covered with native Common Oak forests. This IBA is situated in western Srem district in Vojvodina Province and borders with Sava river in south, Croatian border in west, motorway Belgrade-Zagreb in north and agricultural land of Sremska Mitrovica municipality on east. There is no inhabitats inside, but area was surrounded by six settlements in Sremska Mitrovica and Šid municipalities. Almost every year the lower parts of area is flooded by subterranean waters.
