Taxonomic note
Zanda funerea (del Hoyo and Collar 2014) was previously placed in the genus Calyptorhynchus as C. funereus.Closely related to Z. baudinii and Z. latirostris; has been considered conspecific with latter, and occasionally with former. S subspecies whiteae and xanthanota considered by some possibly to represent a separate species. Tasmanian subspecies sometimes listed erroneously as xanthanotus or xanthonotus. Three subspecies recognized.
