Population justification: The global population is suspected to number 500,000-4,999,999 mature individuals (Partners in Flight 2022).
Trend justification: The population trend has not been investigated, but due to its dependence on forest declines are suspected as a consequence of logging and habitat conversion. Tree cover within the range has been lost at a rate of 10% over the past ten years; since 2016 this has been accelerating to a rate equivalent to 14% over ten years (Global Forest Watch 2022, using Hansen et al. [2013] data and methods disclosed therein). Therefore, population declines are here tentatively placed in the band 10-19% over ten years.
