Black-tailed Cacique Cacicus flavicrissus

Taxonomy

Taxonomic note

The name Cacicus vitellinus Lawrence, 1864 was incorrectly applied to the present taxon following the split of C. cela (Linneaus, 1758). The name C. flavicrissus (P.L. Sclater, 1860) has precedence and is applied. C. cela and C. vitellinus (del Hoyo and Collar 2016) were previously lumped as C. cela following AOU (1998 & supplements); SACC (2005 & updates); Sibley and Monroe (1990, 1993); Stotz et al. (1996).
