Justification of Red List category
Described to western science as recently as 2022, this species is endemic to the Meratus Mountains, Indonesian Borneo. Although it occupies only a limited range, there is no evidence of population declines or habitat degradation. For these reasons it is listed as Least Concern.

Extent of occurrence (breeding/resident): 750 km2
