Site description (2009 baseline):

Site location and context

Located in the north-eastern part of Wushan County, the IBA is linked to Shennongjia (CN348) in Hubei Province in the north-east. The main vegetation types are broadleaf evergreen forest, mixed broadleaf evergreen and deciduous forest and coniferous forest.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected species include Leopard, Clouded Leopard, Asiatic Black Bear, Goral and Rhesus Macaque.

Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity

Established as a nature reserve in 2000.
