Site description (2005 baseline):

The site is located near Virovitica. Industrial lagoons of sugar refinery are used between late summer and winter. In spring and early summer they are very productive with high plankton and insect biomass, which is the favourable habitat for Stilt. The most significant population of Black-winged Stilt in Croatia nest at this locality.
