Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A limestone canyon with slopes that are covered by
Pinus forest, maquis, scrub and grassland. The area is used for forestry, tourism and sheep-grazing.
A very important area for cliff-nesting raptors, particularly
Gyps fulvus.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are from the high pressure from tourism and sand extraction from the river.
