Site description (2007 baseline)
Rannoch Lochs IBA is located on the periphery of Rannoch Moor in the southern Highlands of Scotland. It comprises a group of oligotrophic freshwater lochs in upland heath and blanket bog at 220-420 m above sea level. The site is important for breeding Gavia arctica.
