Site location and context
A partly forested mountain area. Human activities include forestry, stock-raising, hunting, arable agriculture, and tourism.
This is an important area for breeding raptors. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Aquila heliaca.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Major threats come from the construction of the Pili dam and the creation of a reservoir. The construction of two roads threatens a
Gyps fulvus colony and breeding
Neophron percnopterus. Part of the area is a candidate SAC.
