Site summary
The site boundary is based upon a seaward extension of 6 km around Marotiri to encompass the foraging range of IBA threshold numbers of Blue Noddy based upon a 1990 population estimate of 260 - 710 breeding pairs, and high use and transit areas of IBA threshold numbers of White-throated Storm-petrel based upon a 1990 population estimate of 35 - 198 breeding pairs from Thibault, JC. and Varney, A. (1991) Breeding seabirds of Rapa (Polynesia): numbers and changes during the 20th century. Bulletin of the British Ornithologists Club, 111(2): 70-77.
