Site location and context
The floodplain of the naturally meandering river Morava with many periodical and stable tributaries, oxbows and pools is the base of this IBA. The river and the surrounding floodplain forests host many endangered bird species. Human activities - mainly gravel extraction - also contributed to the attractiveness of the area to birds.
The IBA is part of the Litovelské Pomoraví Protected Landscape Area and more than 66% is covered by the Litovelské Pomoraví Ramsar site. Also, 27 small-scale protected areas are present within the IBA. IBa is coverd by SPA Litovelske Pomoravi.
