Site description (2009 baseline)
Located south of Maqu County and adjacent to the Zoige (Ruo’ergai) marshes in Sichuan to the east. The main habitats in the IBA are grassland and wetland, with flooded marshland where the Yellow River flows through the east of the site. The area is sparsely populated, mainly be Tibetan herdsmen.
