Site description (2000 baseline)
A mosaic landscape of agricultural areas, broadleaved forest, conifer plantations, a raised bog, several lakes and beaches. Exact delimitation of the area is not possible.
Key biodiversity
A migration bottleneck during both spring and autumn. Spring totals (raptors and cranes): 7,204 (1995), 19,179 (1996) and 10,109 (1997). Autumn (raptors): 21,802 (1994), 15,522 (1995) and 18,141 (1996). Numbers of migrating raptors are usually higher in autumn as Buteo buteo occurs in higher numbers, although most other species occur in lower numbers on autumn migration. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Haliaeetus albicilla (max. 12, passage).
