Site description (2002 baseline)
This site is to be located in the parishes of Trelawny and St. Ann. It is also known as the Litchfield Matheson Run, and cover an area just over 11,000 acres. Recieves an annual rainfall between 1500mm - 2000mm. It's elevational range is 600 - 900m.
Key biodiversity
The area provides suitable habitat for most of the Jamaican endemics as well as other breeding resident species. Globally threatened species to be found are the Plain Pigeon, both Amazonia parrots and the Blue Mountain Vireo. Endemics which can be found include the Jamaican Becard, both the White Chinned and White eyed Thrushes, and the Jamaican Spindalis. Other resident birds to be found include the Olive throated parakeet and Zenaida dove.
