Site description (2000 baseline)
The IBA comprises two lakes separated by an extensive marsh with reedbeds (Phragmites) and wet meadows, situated at the foot of Büyük Aðrý mountain (Mount Ararat). The plains surrounding the wetland are grazed, and reed-cutting takes place (`Other' land-use).
