Site location and context
A mountain pass with moorland and woodlots.
The site is a major migratory bottleneck, where more than 20,000 raptors regularly pass (including
Pernis apivorus 10,000;
Milvus migrans 10,000).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are afforestation with conifers and high hunting pressure on migratory birds, including shooting during prohibited periods.
