Site description (2007 baseline)
A mosaic of moorland and blanket bog, which overlies deep peat. Calluna, Eriophorum and Scirpus dominate the blanket bog plant community, which is interspersed with areas of acid grassland and Sphagnum-rich mire. The IBA supports an assemblage of breeding moorland birds.
