Site description (2000 baseline)
The site includes heathlands, meadows, ponds and marshes, deciduous and coniferous woodlands, bogs, hedgerows and bocages.

Key biodiversity
The site is important for forest and heathland birds and migrating raptors. The site is a migratory bottleneck where more than 3,000 Grus grus regularly pass.
