Trichoglossus flavoviridis and T. meyeri (del Hoyo and Collar 2014) were previously lumped as T. flavoviridis following Sibley and Monroe (1990, 1993).

Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is described as most common in montane forest but also common in degraded lowland areas (del Hoyo et al. 1997).
