Taxonomic note
Following extensive museum work appraising morphological differences, in addition to differences in vocalisations (Ng et al. 2016, Eaton et al. 2016) , Dusky Cuckoo-dove has been split into Timor Cuckoo-dove M. magna, Flores Sea Cuckoo-dove M. macassariensis and Tanimbar Cuckoo-dove M. timorlaoensis.
