Anabathmis reichenbachii (del Hoyo and Collar 2016) was previously placed in the genus Nectarinia following Dowsett & Forbes-Watson (1993); Sibley & Monroe (1990, 1993).

Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is described as common in Cameroon, locally very common in the Congo, elsewhere often rare (Cheke et al. 2001).
