Zentrygon lawrencii (del Hoyo and Collar 2014) was previously placed in the genus Geotrygon.
Previously, Geotrygon lawrencii (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) was split into G. lawrencii and G. carrikeri following AOU (1998).
