Population justification: The population size has not been quantified, however, crude estimates put it at 20,000-50,000 (C. Trainor in litt. 2012) or 200,000-300,000 pairs (Trainor et al. 2009b).

Trend justification: Data are lacking on the current status and population trends of this species, but some habitat loss is known to have occurred, thus slow declines are suspected.
