Justification of Red List category

This recently-split, rarely-seen small parrot has an extremely small population, possibly broken up into four isolated, tiny subpopulations. Declines may have largely been historical, owing to widespread clearance of Australian lowland rainforest and logging of rainforest trees, and there is no evidence of a continuing decline. Therefore it is now classified as Endangered.
