Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is described as often common (del Hoyo et al. 2005), while the population in China has been estimated at c.10,000-100,000 breeding pairs (Brazil 2009).
Trend justification: The population is estimated is to be increasing following recorded range expansions in recent years (del Hoyo et al. 2005).
