Population justification: The gobal population is estimated to number 500,000-4,999,999 mature individuals (Partners in Flight 2019).
Trend justification:
Barred Forest-falcon is undergoing a large, significant decline (Partners in Flight 2019). A remote-sensing study found that forest loss within its range over the last three generations was potentially 8% (Tracewski et al. 2016); thus the species be declining by <10% over three generations.
