This species is listed as Near Threatened because it has a highly restricted range on just one mountain. While current thought is that the impacts of anthropogenic habitat thinning may actually be beneficial for this species, larger scale habitat effects, however, may have a worse effect and so the species is conservatively listed as Near Threatened.
