This species has a very small range, and the population is potentially threatened by invasive species. Its range is not severely fragmented, and the number of locations where the species occurs is uncertain. Therefore, the species is listed as Near Threatened, but further assessment of the impact of invasives on this species may mean that it warrants uplisting in the future.
