IBAs in Danger

Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas in Danger

As of early 2017, the BirdLife International Partnership has identified 338 Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) in Danger, across over 100 countries and territories around the world. This list builds on the decades of work undertaken by our Partnership to identify and safeguard the most important sites for birds and biodiversity. These 338 sites represent a subset of the more than 12,000 IBAs and have been identified as being those under very high pressure in recent years and in need of immediate action.
