Situated in eastern Serbia and surrounded by the Malinik and Dubanica mountains. The cliffs in the limestone gorge are up to 500 m high; screes and diverse vegetation are also present. The Dubanica plateau supports dry pasture and beech Fagus forest, interspersed with typical karst relief. Human activities include husbandry and hunting of large mammals.
