Site description (2009 baseline):

Yinggeling is the second highest peak in Hainan. The inaccessibility of the IBA has protected the forests from human disturbance, and satellite images reveal some 300 km2 of primary forest.

Non-bird biodiversity: No information.

Established as a provincial-level nature reserve in 2004.
