A wetland complex of the Piave river, located 15 km south-west of the town of Belluno. Habitats include an artificial lake (Lago di Busche), a wet woodland (Vincheto di Cellarda) of willow Salix and alder Alnus, a peatland and a wet grassland. The main land-uses are nature conservation, recreation and water management.
Key biodiversity
An important stop-over site for waterbirds migrating along the valley of Piave river (crossing the Alps).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
No major threats are present. Wintering waterbirds are monitored regularly.
