The IBA is comprised of two limestone mountains in Eastern Serbia: Veliki Krs (1.148 m) and Stol (1.155 m). The most dominant landscape feature of the area is the elongated karst ridge at the top of Veliki Krš, which is 9 km long. The northeast slopes are steep with large cliffs, while the southwest facing slopes are covered with deciduous forests. The entire landscape is mosaic and has a lot of open patches with pastures, arable land and forest groves. The IBA is situated within the municipalities of Bor and Majdanpek.
