Site description
A forested part of the Saale sandstone plain situated between the Saale valley and the Orla-Senke. The forest is dominated by Pinus interspersed with Fagus with a Vaccinium/Pteridium field layer.

Key biodiversity
One of the last breeding sites of Tetrao urogallus in Thüringen.
