Site description (2000 baseline)
A variety of lowland habitats are present, including the River Tápió and its tributaries, wet meadows, reedbeds (Phragmites), fish-ponds and alluvial Salix and Populus woodlands. These form a mosaic with dry grassland, arable land and forest plantations of non-native Robinia, Pinus and Populus. Human activities include arable farming, haymaking, grazing, goose-farming, reed-harvesting (`Other' land-use, below), hunting and angling.

Key biodiversity
An important area for birds of lowland grassland. Breeding species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Crex crex (no data).
