Site description
This Marine IBA is identified using seaward extensions around breeding colonies. It originates from the Philippines Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and falls within the Pacific, Western Central FAO ocean region. The site covers an area of 21915 km2 and is 91 km away from the closet coastline. The depth ranges from 1 to 3746 m, with a mean annual wind speed of 1.2 m/s, mean annual sea surface temperature falls between 28.14 and 28.44 °C and mean annual chlorophyll-a concentrations found to range between 0.14 and 0.57 mg/m3.

2 species trigger IBA criteria at this Marine IBA. Seaward extensions around breeding colony; Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park include key near-colony areas for breeding populations of Great Crested Tern (LC) and Brown Booby (LC).
