Site description (baseline)
A long coastline with low chalk cliffs, agriculture and Fagus forest. There is one abandoned and one functional chalk pit in the area. Exact delimitation of the site is not possible.

Key biodiversity
An important bottleneck site for migrating raptors, including Buteo buteo, in autumn. Numbers for the 1993-1996 period average 17,600 birds per autumn (minimum 12,214 in 1996, maximum 23,854 in 1993). Large annual variations are due to changes in the prevailing winds and also, to some extent, changes in observer coverage. The area receives birds that also migrate through Falsterbo in Sweden (Swedish IBA 061). Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Haliaeetus albicilla (max. 14, passage).

Attributes
Raptors MOU - IBA listed under Table 3 of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation of Migratory Birds of Prey in Africa and Eurasia
