Site description
The small island of Sprogø.

Key biodiversity
Numbers of Somateria mollissima have now recovered after decreases caused by siltation from the construction of the Great Belt Bridge. Sterna sandvicensis, listed on Annex I of the EC Birds Directive, bred at the site in 1983, but almost all breeding gulls and terns have been displaced from the site as a result of the bridge construction work.
